The VRCBC's very own international ambassadors. Linda and Manny Zumm have been at it again! When they aren't helping with racing at Mission, they are travelling somewhere interesting. In the past, they have provided us with photos of their visit to the famous Goodwood Revival (here) and of the fascinating 'vintage' cars of Havana (here). This past July they were back in England and some friends surprised them with tickets to the "Best of British Airshow" at The Shuttleworth Collection (here) located at the Old Warden Aerodrome near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire.

The event showcased aircraft designed and built by the best of the many historic British manufacturers from the earliest days. In addition, the TVR Car Club was invited to drop by and celebrate the 75th (!) anniversary of that famous British sports car.

The Shuttleworth pre-event promotional video (on You Tube here) describes the plans for the show and the post-event video (here) shows many of the historic aircraft in action. Two World War 1 era fighters - a Sopwith Snipe and an Albatros DVa - were brought all of the way from New Zealand for the show.

The weather was perfect as you can see from Linda and Manny's photos below. Thanks for the trip report guys; we look forward to the next one!

Sunday October 11th saw the final Vintage racing of the 2015 season at Mission Raceway's Road Course during the Sports Car Club of BC (SCCBC) Turkey Triple Weekend. The Vintage - related results are now posted on this web site under the Race Results menu (here). The full results for all of the weekend racing are available on the Results page of the SCCBC web site (here). As always, our thanks to the SCCBC Timing & Scoring team for making this information available to us.

Brent Martin has again provided us with some photos (see below). Thanks Brent. You can find his full portfolio for the Turkey Triple Weekend plus a lot of other motorsport action on his own website (here). And remember, Brent is donating 50% of the revenue from the sale of photos from his web site during October to the E-Crew Firesuit Fund (here).

VRCBC members Alan McColl and Doug Floer have parked their Vintage Formula Fords for a week to go to the other side of the country and compete in the famous annual Targa Newfoundland with the BEL Racing team. (Team leader Brad Law is also a regular Formula Ford runner at Mission Raceway but isn't a VRCBC member ... yet.)

The Targa is a unique motorsports event in North America. It is on many enthusiast's 'bucket list'; not just because of the opportunity to drive fast on 'The Rock's' challenging closed public roads but also because of the legendary hospitality of Newfoundlanders. The 2015 Targa started on Sunday, September 13 and will end on Friday, September 18.

BEL Racing is entered in the fastest 'Targa' class; they are aiming for an outright win. You can pretend you are right there by following the team's exploits on their Facebook site (here). They are continually updating it with photos and on-board videos.

Good luck guys and watch out for the rocks and the moose!
