Local racing ‘legend’ (ahem) Keith Robinson carried the VRCBC’s flag (well, our decals) into battle during the 50th anniversary of Formula Ford races at the Indianapolis Speedway in June. These Formula Ford races were part of the SVRA’s big Open Wheel World Challenge event.

The VRCBC took advantage of the BC Historic Motor Races to carry out some initial testing of the new clear cockpit canopy being proposed for introduction with the 2018 Open Wheel Vintage Racing rules on April 1st.  The design work was done by the (in)famous ‘Arold’s Engineering of Chipping Sodbury.

Further information will become available once Tom Johnston Racing completes final wind tunnel testing in North Vancouver.

The fourth road racing event of the season at the Mission Raceway Park Road Course – The Mission Hospice Charity Weekend – was held over the July 15-16 weekend. The VRCBC’s own Vintage racers took it to the track on the Sunday!

The complete results for the weekend are available on the SCCBC web site (here) and our own results are also posted on this web site under the Race Results menu (here).

As usual, Brent Martin has provided us with a sample of his photos of the Vintage racing – see below. (Thanks Brent.) The rest of his photos of all of the weekend’s action, including Vintage, will be on his web site (here) within a few days. Be sure to check them out.

Of course, our next Vintage racing will be the BC Historic Motor Races on August 19th and 20th, with an open practice day on Friday the 18th. Visit the BCHMR web site (here) regularly for the latest news.
