Finally! The SCCBC held their first CACC-sanctioned race weekend of this very unusual season at the Mission Raceway Park road course on July 25th-26th. The Vintage racers hit the track on the Sunday. Some cars were  ‘attacked’ by the Vintage racing gremlins, but there was also some excellent on-track battles. In spite of the heat, the mosquitoes and the (now familiar to us all) COVID protocol requirements, it was good to get back to the track. Hopefully, the next event scheduled for the August 22nd-23rd weekend will also get the green flag.

The complete results for the weekend are posted on the SCCBC web site (here). And as always, thanks to Brent Martin for the photos (see below) of the action.

The first race weekend of this very unusual season will be this coming July 25th-26th weekend. Unfortunately, due to the necessary restrictions that we are now all too familiar with, the number of entrants and crew has had to be limited and there will be no spectators allowed.  However, the weather forecast is good and everyone entered is looking forward to getting back into action after all this time.

Remember to keep checking the Schedule page (here) on the SCCBC web site for the current status of the remaining 2020 road racing season at Mission. Take care and we hope to see everybody at the track soon.

It is with regret that due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Club executive and the BCHMR Chairman have decided that there is no alternative but to cancel the BCHMR for 2020.  There are still far too many uncertainties and risks for the VRCBC to be able to make the early financial and other commitments that are required to organize this event. We are now putting all of our efforts and  concentration into the organizing of the 2021 BCHMR.

All of the VRCBC members would like to sincerely thank all of you who have loyally supported our event in the past and we look forward to being able to host you again in the very near future.

If the situation should improve enough later in the summer, it may (just) be possible to schedule a small scale event of some sort on those dates. We will keep you informed.

Unfortunately, our KartFest has to be postponed due to the current situation. We have tentatively re-scheduled it for Tuesday, October 20th at TBC. Hopefully, it will be possible to run it. Take care and stay tuned.

George Holt takes his ‘Big Healey’ (a 1959 Mk1) into a soggy Turn 5 ahead of Robin Liu (1976 Datsun 280Z) and Larry Sandham (1978 Mini Vauxhall). George is a real ‘Vintage traditionalist’ – he drove his Healey to the track, raced it and then drove it back home again – just like the good old days! – Brent Martin photo

The final race event of the CACC 2019 season at the Mission Raceway Road Course was the SCCBC’s Wet Leaf Classic over the October 13th-14th weekend. Well, they certainly picked an appropriate name this time! It was damp and windy.

The results are posted on the SCCBC Results web page (here). As always, a big thank you to Brent Martin for his photos (see below). You can see all of Brent’s motorsport photo albums on his web site (here).
