The last CACC-sanctioned, SCCBC-organized race event of the 2016 season honoured Tony Morris, a local motorsport legend who passed away in July. The Tony Morris Memorial Weekend featured SCCBC points races on both Saturday and Sunday, plus a special 'Time-Attack No Passing Introductory Event' on the Saturday as well as the VRCBC's own REVS Vintage races on the Sunday.

The weekend also 'featured' heavy rains on the Saturday; check out Brent Martin's photos of all the splashing around here.

Fortunately for all of the Vintage racers (particularly those still using Lucas electrics!), Sunday's weather was perfect; there was some excellent action on track and everyone had a good time.

The complete results for all of the weekend’s racing are available on the SCCBC website (here). The Vintage Closed Wheel and the Open Wheel / Sports Racer results are available in PDF under the 2016 Season menu on this web site (here).

Check out some of Brent Martin's photos of the Vintage action below. Brent has many more motorsport photos on his web site (here).

The VRCBC was again part of the Confederation of Autosport Car Clubs - better known as the CACC - display at this year's Vancouver International Autoshow. The show ran from Wednesday, March 23rd to Sunday, March 27th at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The CACC once again secured a high profile location and had a very impressive display (check out the photos below). Last year was considered to be a great success and this year was even better. Many show visitors stopped to look at our racing cars and to talk about all forms of amateur motorsport, including our favourite, Vintage racing.

Update: Initial indications are that over 100,000 people visited the Autoshow over the five days, and that approximately 1,000 (!) of them submitted an entry form to the draw for a free registration in the SCCBC's very popular Driver Training Program to be held this coming June at the Mission Raceway Road Course.

A big thank you from the VRCBC to the CACC for organizing the display, to all those who provided their cars - and karts - and to all those members of the various clubs who contributed their time to 'work' the show.
